Osmancık rice, which is intensively cultivated in the Thrace Region, is also grown in the Samsun Bafra region due to its water availability. Osmancık rice grains are long, wide, glassy and have a matte appearance. Osmancık rice, which is an ideal rice variety for cooking pilaf due to its easy consistency, is also a rice variety used in vegetable dishes, stuffed dishes or in making desserts such as rice pudding.
It is the product obtained by cleaning the rice, which is a grain of the cultivated plants of the species Oryza sativa L., in accordance with the technique, peeling its shell, whitening and polishing, classifying it, and then cleaning it again and polishing it as desired.
Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
Cooking tip: If you soak your rice in warm water for 20 minutes before cooking, you can drain the excess starch. If you roast the rice that has been drained well on medium heat, your rice will cook in a shorter time. Rice takes 1.5-2 measures of water for every 1 measure. You can use it in pilafs, stuffed vegetables, soups and desserts.
