Corn (Zea Mays) is an annual agricultural plant, especially in the unsaturated oil group, that can be grown in very humid climates. Crude oil in its grain is the nutrient that gives the highest value after oats. It came to Istanbul from Egypt through Syria in the 1600s under the name of “Egyptian wheat”. Corn flour is obtained by grinding the dried corn kernels very well in a water mill.
You can use it in bread making, mixing with other types of flour, making pastries, cooking meat and fish.
